Recovery vehicles from stock
Looking out of the window at the front of the company premises in Drachten, you have a great view of the fleet of vehicles offered by Boonstra Recovery Trucks: from a small wrecker for transporting cars in parking garages and ramp trucks for one or more vehicles to vehicles that can transport complete trucks or machines, including agricultural equipment.
The company sees a bright future for trading in such vehicles. Robin Kruse: "In Europe, you can count on one hand the number of companies that can deliver such ready-to-use trucks from stock. We have the space and resources to do so. What's more, if you order a recovery truck, including superstructure, now, it may not be ready until mid-2027. We deliver from a stock of around 80 vehicles. A recovery operator who loses a recovery vehicle or is looking to expand their operations cannot wait two years for a new one. They need such a vehicle tomorrow, preferably today. That's what we're speculating on."
Workshop
Boonstra Recovery Trucks sold around 200 recovery vehicles in 2024. Among other things, the company is a dealer for transport vehicles manufactured by bodywork manufacturer Tijhof in Almelo. Boonstra sells several dozen of these vehicles every year. Boonstra Recovery Trucks also collaborates with De Groot Techniek, Tevor, Isoli, and other bodywork manufacturers. Robin Kruse: "We are brand-independent. We work with all brands of trucks and with all kinds of body suppliers. To provide our customers with maximum peace of mind, we can also build accessories in our brand-new workshop and carry out any necessary maintenance and repairs.
Boonstra Recovery Trucks' customers are mainly salvage companies, particularly those that also provide repatriation services, but anyone is welcome to view and purchase a vehicle. In principle, we trade in all vehicles. Most of what we trade in or purchase is sold to the end user. In addition, there is the export and trade branch. These are vehicles that we resell, mainly abroad, in their current condition.
